Times of India

In traditional Indian shops one will invariably find a clock hanging on the wall. And this clock will not be the only object on that wall. One would find portraits of the shopkeeper’s ancestors as well as religious pictures or just plain commercial advertisments. In the “New India”, especially in the shops that sell computers or fashionable articles, in art galleries and in trendy cafés, clocks can no longer be found hanging on those walls. When an era is on the wane, it vanishes together with its clocks.
